The National Agency of Pre-University Education GDPUE established in 2019, is an executive arm of the MoESY in the Pre-University Sector and has 4 regional education directorates (REDs), located in Lezhë, Durrës, Korçë and Fier, as well as local education offices (LEOs) for 51 municipalities. The General Directorate and subordinated structures are effectively responsible for management of the Pre-University Education System, including, inter alia: monitoring, evaluation and inspection; school budget planning; collection and processing of statistical data; implementation of curriculum and standards; provision of technical assistance to schools, hiring of teachers and liaison with local authorities.

The National Agency for Pre-University Education (AKAP) has the mission of providing and ensuring quality educational services in all educational institutions of the pre-university system in the Republic of Albania, in accordance with national policies, strategies and the pre-university education curriculum, with the aim of the full and comprehensive development and education of the student, in order to face the challenges of the future.

ASCAP has carried out different projects in strong cooperation with Council of Europe, UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, British Council, Save the Children, Word Vision etc.
